A woman has been murdered, and several others injured, a young girl among them, in a shooting at Congregation Chabad in Poway, north of San Diego. The attack occurred during services for the end of the Passover Jewish religious celebrations.

The shooter has been apprehended by the authorities, and identified as John Earnest, who is investigated for connection to a mosque arson last month.

This incident follows the deadly bombings in Sri Lanka, the New Zealand mosque shooting, the Philippines church attacks, and the Pittsburg Tree of Life synagogue attack. It remains clear that houses of worship, especially during religious celebrations, remain prime targets for terrorists – both organized or lone wolf.  Religious hatred has always been present and terror attacks on other religions have always occurred. In some incidents, racism and xenophobia lead to attacks on houses of prayers – New Zealand, Poway and Pittsburg USA, and other. It is the easy way, and the coward’s way of attacking defenseless citizens during their most vulnerable times.
