Abu Sayyaf , and by extension - all ISIS inspired terror organizations around the world, are more that just an organization. They are an Idea, an Ideology. Conventional fighting against them is important, but will probably not solve the problem. It will exist as long as the ideology of terror exists.
Staying alert and aware of your surroundings, understanding what are your relevant threat scenarios, and how to protect yourself and loved ones - is the best mitigation strategy.
